چکیده

Abstract Purpose Reduced physical performance due to therapy-related dysfunctions in children diagnosed with cancer contributes insufficient activity levels. It is therefore essential that relevant functions are restored. Whole-body vibration (WBV) training, a neuromuscular stimulating exercise intervention, could have the potential target those adequately. Therefore, aim of this study was evaluate feasibility combined supervised and home-based WBV intervention after inpatient oncological treatment. Methods Eight aged 6–21 years were included cessation their They performed 12-week training including one two sessions per week according standardized protocol. Feasibility, adherence compliance protocol documented. Subjective benefits satisfaction assessed using questionnaire. Results Study participants attended 84.03 ± 13.09% sessions. No serious adverse events occurred. Some patients reported side effects partially resulting modifications by therapists. Almost all regarded as beneficial. Conclusion A treatment feasible safe. The beneficial regarding sensory motor now be investigated. Trial registration number date DRKS00014713 15.05.2018

Comparing minimally supervised home-based and closely supervised gym-based exercise programs in weight reduction and insulin resistance after bariatric surgery: A randomized clinical trial

Background: Effectiveness of various exercise protocols in weight reduction after bariatric surgery has not been sufficiently explored in the literature. Thus, in the present study, we aimed at comparing the effect of minimally supervised home-based and closely supervised gym-based exercise programs on weight reduction and insulin resistance after bariatric surgery.  &n...

The Effects of Whole Body Vibration on Mobility and Balance in Parkinson Disease: a Systematic Review

Whole body vibration (WBV) is a contemporary treatment modality that holds promise as an exercise training method in health–compromised individuals. A growing number of studies on individuals with Parkinson Disease are examining whether WBV improves balance and functional mobility. However, interpreting WBV studies is challenging since there is variability in the manner in which WBV interventio...

Effective Fibromyalgia Treatment with Whole Body Vibration

Whole-body vibration (WBV) involves standing on a machine with a flat plate which tilts slightly around an axle and sends vibrations through the entire body. The aim for the person standing on the machine is to keep the head and body steady and upright. In this way the person exercises all the muscles that keep the body in this position. The amount of time spent on the machine varies but even s...

Using intervention mapping to develop a home-based parental-supervised toothbrushing intervention for young children.

BACKGROUND Dental caries in young children is a major public health problem impacting on the child and their family in terms of pain, infection and substantial financial burden on healthcare funders. In the UK, national guidance on the prevention of dental caries advises parents to supervise their child's brushing with fluoride toothpaste until age 7. However, there is a dearth of evidence-base...

Transmission of whole body vibration in children while standing.

BACKGROUND Whole body vibration has recently been used as a therapeutic intervention for the treatment of children with disabling conditions. Researchers of these studies observed encouraging results; however, children may not be capable of attenuating high vibration accelerations to the head because of low mass. The purpose of this study was to determine if children transmit vibration differen...
